Love for Leo

Meet Leo

In January of 2021, this brave dog was rescued from the dim alleyway behind a restaurant in China. When rescuers found him, Leo had no fur, was missing an eye, and had numerous other injuries. He had been trapped for days in a filthy cage with no food or water.

In only a few hours, Leo would’ve been on the menu at the restaurant. While selling dog meat for consumption is illegal in China, some restaurants don’t follow these rules. Dogs that are sold for food are often abused like Leo was. Many of these dogs don’t even have the chance to live a better life.

After a lengthy negotiation, the rescuers managed to purchase Leo from the restaurant owner. Then, they immediately rushed him to the veterinarian. The rescuers that saved him were volunteers from ChinaDogsFlytoUSA, an organization whose mission is to rescue dogs from China and bring them to the U.S. After getting his health certificate, Leo was on his way to the Golden State. He is currently residing in Los Angeles with one of his rescuers, Helena Nobbler.

Leo is now happier and healthier than he was before. He was able to regrow his fur and heal from many of his injuries. But he’s still having problems with his missing eye and needs medication. Eye treatment is expensive, and donations are needed to get it to him. In fact, the estimated cost to treat Leo is $3,000. To help Leo out, feel free to donate to our gofund me!

Despite all that he went through, Leo is a friendly and good-natured pooch. He enjoys going to the park and eagerly wags his tail when meeting new people. He also adores receiving pets and cuddles. However, Leo is in need of a loving family to take him in. Consider welcoming Leo into your house and your heart if you’re seeking a loving rescue dog.

Let’s find some love for Leo.
